About the university

St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" named after V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin) is the oldest electrotechnical university in Russia, founded on 3 June 1886. It develops practically all areas of scientific and technical disciplines related to electrical engineering and radioelectronics. The University offers a wide range of educational areas in radio engineering, telecommunications, electrical engineering, electronics, information technology, solid state physics, materials science, as well as humanitarian specialities. There are 5 corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 20 laureates of national and international awards, more than 200 doctors of sciences working here. The University trains specialists for 50 countries of Europe, Asia and America. 65 universities and institutes from more than 20 countries of the world are partners of ETU in educational activities. At ETU "LETI" there is an opportunity to get training in "Russian as a foreign language".

Campus

The University is located in the historic center of Saint Petersburg. St. Petersburg is a city and a federal subject of Russia. It is located on the Neva River at the head of the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea.

The University consists of 8 educational buildings, each of which has Wi-Fi connection. Courses at the university are held in a variety of unique laboratories of microelectronics, design of power converters, automation of production systems and others. As part of the "Science and Universities" project, "LETI" has created the Mobile Intelligent Systems laboratory and the Laboratory of Fundamental Bases of Building Intelligent Systems.

Sport facilities

There are over 20 sport sections at "LETI". Well-equipped halls are provided for them, and classes are conducted only by highly qualified coaches.

The "LETI" Student Sports Club was established and carries out its activities to involve students in physical education and sports, develop and popularise student sports.

The University regularly organises mass sports events.

There is a health centre on the territory of the university. "LETI" also has an agreement on mutual co-operation with the City Polyclinic No. 76.
