Teachers of the OINPE held the national stage of the Global HackAtom Student Championship in Kazakhstan

In the period from June 5 to June 6, the Almaty branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI became the venue for the national tour of the Global HackAtom International Student Championship. The event, organized with the assistance of the Rosatom State Corporation, was conducted by the teachers of the IATE National Research Nuclear University MEPhI in order to popularize engineering fields among young people, talk about the advantages of Russian education in the field of nuclear energy and get acquainted with advanced nuclear technologies developed in Russia.

The competition was attended by 56 students united in 13 teams representing 8 leading universities of Kazakhstan, including the Almaty branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and others. The participants were invited to develop and submit to the jury in a short time projects concerning the optimal location and efficient operation of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor of the IATE National Research Nuclear University MEPhI participated directly in the development of the assignment, organization and conduct of the HackAtom. The CyberAtom team, which became the winner of the national stage, was awarded the right to represent Kazakhstan in the Global HackAtom finals, which will be held in Russia in September 2025 as part of the World Atomic Week youth program.
