Rosatom and MEPhI Held a Forum in Addis Ababa

On March 5, forum on Qualifications for Technological Solutions of the Country was held in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. The forum was organized by Rosatom State Corporation and NRNU MEPhI, within the framework of the Obninsk Tech project.

The purpose of the event was to demonstrate the interaction of Russian universities with Rosatom State Corporation in training specialists and developing scientific ideas. Projects being implemented in Ethiopia were presented at the Forum. More than 100 experts and professors discussed the development of nuclear technologies and education with a focus on cooperation between Russia and Ethiopia.

Vladimir Golovachev, Director of the Russian House in Addis Ababa, noted that Russia supports Ethiopian youth in obtaining technological education. Teklemariam Tessema Tohe, Head of the Technology Development and Transfer Division of the Ethiopian Ministry of Innovation and Technology, shared plans for joint development of nuclear technologies with Rosatom, including inter-university cooperation with Russian universities.

Tatiana Osipova, Director of the Obninsk Tech Project Office at MEPhI and Deputy Director of OINPE, presented the Obninsk Tech project as a means to promote nuclear education, created to consolidate the efforts of the Rosatom Core Universities Consortium and industrial companies in foreign markets.

The Forum was an important step in strengthening international partnerships, promoting technological and educational initiatives and achieving sustainable development through peaceful application of nuclear technologies.
