Description
The course, organized by Rosatom Technical Academy, focuses on the key stages of a radioactive waste disposal site life-cycle, such issues as radioactive waste processing technologies, system of accounting and control of radioactive substances, peculiarities of design and construction of RWDSs are covered. The purpose of the course is to train academic staff and specialists from countries that seek to develop national infrastructure for radioactive waste management.

“Train-The-Trainers” is a series short-term training courses for academic staff of foreign universities on the topics covering key nuclear technologies and the methodology of creating educational programs.

- Regulatory requirements for RW disposal system monitoring at different stages of RWDS life cycle,

- Examination of safety for RWDS construction, operation and closure activities,

- Principles of informational support and mechanisms of interaction with public at different stages of RWDS life cycle for enhancing public acceptance.
Practical classes at physical protection laboratories and a technical tour to an operating RWDS are organized.

The program is aimed at providing conditions for nuclear education transfer to ROSATOM partner countries and establishing a platform for cooperation between ROSATOM core universities and universities of ROSATOM partner countries.
